A combination of satellite, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), internet of things (IoT) data and your enterprise data is securely ingested through Artificial Intelligence pipelines to generate actionable insights.

Goal

SmartGrader is an advanced suite of AI-powered applications and IoT services designed to streamline and enhance the fruit grading and counting process for farmers, graders, and loaders. Its cutting-edge Ceres SmartGrader module utilizes standard camera resolution images to efficiently count and grade fruits. This module is fully compatible with mobile devices, making it ideal for field use, even in areas without real-time data connectivity.

By analyzing production and the quality of harvested fruits, SmartGrader provides actionable insights into harvesting activities. These insights help optimize harvesting schedules, ensuring fruits are picked at the perfect time for maximum quality. Additionally, the system enables the identification of underperforming harvesters, allowing you to take targeted actions to improve overall productivity and quality.

Solutions

Traveled to Indonesia to conduct an in-depth field study for a client, focusing on understanding user needs, pain points, touchpoints, and opportunities for improvement. Engaged directly with users, observing daily activities, and introduced simple yet effective user research techniques to gather actionable data and insights. Based on the findings, recommended a mobile app solution to address key challenges and deliver scalable improvements.

Responsibilities included planning, prioritizing, and coordinating field research, performing task analysis, and designing information architecture. Delivered end-to-end user-centric designs through interaction design, usability testing, and the application of Design Thinking principles.

Leveraged Vision AI-powered handheld cameras integrated with eFact systems. Combined these with advanced AI algorithms, user-centered design (UCD) methodologies, and user research tools to optimize workflows for Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) grading. This solution simplifies the lives of graders and stakeholders by improving accuracy, efficiency, and user experience.

SmartGrader has pinpointed sub-optimal harvesting practices that have led to a yield reduction of up to 5%. By leveraging advanced AI and IoT technologies, coupled with an intuitive new user interface, the system enables precise data collection and analysis of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs).

The EcoWater app empowers users in the United States by providing real-time solutions for water management while monetizing essential features. It ensures seamless water leak protection by detecting and alerting users to potential issues instantly, helping prevent costly damages.

With advanced analytics, the app tracks water system usage and water hardness, giving users insights to optimize water consumption and maintain quality. It also facilitates efficient communication, sending notifications regarding insurance claims and timely water softener maintenance cycles, ensuring smooth operation and reducing long-term costs.

By combining these features into an intuitive platform, the EcoWater app delivers value to end-users while promoting smarter, sustainable water usage.

Solutions

Created and iterated user interface wireframes and prototypes to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that showcased to clients and end-users the value and convenience the app brings to their lives. This solution demonstrated how IoT technology, powered by sensors in home automation devices, optimizes the use of natural resources.

Developed a user-friendly app, EcoWater, empowering users to monitor and control home automation devices both locally and remotely. The interface is designed to be simple, flexible, and scalable, leveraging the IoT platform for seamless interaction.

The diversity of interfaces and data points in IoT presents one of the greatest challenges for UX designers: unifying interfaces to cater to varied user experiences.
